奇险天下第一山——华山

   中国的名山众多，数不胜数，雄、奇、灵、秀，各具特色。中国的名山首推五岳，华山之险，居五岳之首，有“奇险天下第一山”的美誉。华山亦称太华山，为我国五岳之西岳，位于陕西境内。华山奇峰耸立，绝壁巍峙，慑人魂魄。华山，东、南、西、北、中，五峰环峙，雄奇险峻，高擎天空，远而望之状若一朵盛开的莲花。华山拥有丰富的历史文化积淀，人文景观比皆是。自古为道教圣地之一，山下还有玉泉院等景点和众多名人题刻。仰韶文化和龙山文化遗址密布华山脚下的黄河渭河一带。寻找华夏文化的遗迹，脉在黄河，根在华山。闻名的“智取华山”的故事就发生在这里，英雄的足迹更给游人在登山过程中增添了无穷勇气。

       China proudly boasts numerous famous mountains and each has its own characteristics. Situated in Huayin City, Sha’anxi Province, Mt. Huashan, which is one of the five sacred mountains in China, is known as 'The Number One Precipitous Mountain under Heaven'. The other four mountains are Mt. Taishan in Shandong, Mt. Hengshan in Hunan, Mt. Hengshan in Shanxi, and Mt. Songshan in Henan. In ancient times, Mt. Huashan was called Mt. Taihuashan. From a distance the five peaks seem to form the shape of a 'flower' (hua in Chinese), hence the name 'Huashan'. It is famous for its natural vistas of steep and narrow paths, precipitous crags, and a high mountain range. It is home to several influential Taoist temples where emperors of past dynasties made pilgrimages, making Mt. Huashan the holy land of Taoism.
