北京世界文化遗产之二——颐和园
颐和园是中国四大名园之一,坐落在山水清幽、景色秀丽的北京西北郊,它集传统造园艺术之大成,以昆明湖、万寿山为基址,杭州西湖风景为蓝本。饱含中国皇家园林的恢弘富丽气势,又充满自然之趣,是我国现存规模最大,保存最完整的皇家园林。颐和园记载着清朝历史的盛衰,它始建于“康乾盛世”,同时作为慈禧太后晚年的颐养之所,又成了中国近代历史的重要见证以及诸多重大历史事件的发生地。
The Summer Palace is one of the four biggest famous gardens in China, located in the beautiful northwestern suburbs of Beijing. It gathers the elite of traditional gardening, with Kunming Lake and Longevity Hill as its base and landscape of West Lake as its chief source. Full of grandness of Chinese imperial gardens and natural interest, it is the largest and best preserved imperial garden in China. The Summer Palace records the ups and downs of Qing dynasty’s history, built in “prosperity period of Kangxi and Qianlong”, used as the resting place for Empress Dowager Cixi. At the same time, it becomes the witness of Chinese history and the place where many significant historical events happened.
