北京世界文化遗产之一——故宫

   故宫，又称紫禁城，它为中国封建王朝书写了最后的华丽篇章。这座无与伦比的古代建筑杰作位于北京市中心，是中国历史上明、清两代的皇宫，占地面积超过72万平方米，内有木结构宫殿约9000间。它始建于公元1406年，历时14年才完工，共有24位皇帝先后在此登基。作为世界上现存最大、最完整的木质结构古建筑群，故宫不仅是中国最重要的文物保护单位，也是全世界共同的文化遗产。
       The Imperial Palace, also named as the Forbidden City, wrote the last magnificent chapter for Chinese feudal dynasty. This incomparable ancient architecture locates in the center of Beijing, the imperial palaces of Ming and Qing dynasties, covering an area of more than 720,000 square meters, including about 9000 wooden palaces. It was built in 1406 and completed in 14 years. 24 emperors ascended the throne here. As the biggest and most complete wood architecture complex, the Palace Museum is not only the most important units of officially protected historical relics, but also the common cultural relics of the world.
