   瑞典的首都斯德哥尔摩位于辽阔的波罗的海西岸，坐落在梅拉伦湖入海处，是瑞典的政治、文化、经济和交通中心。这是世界上唯一一片处处可以游泳和钓鱼的净土，绿荫婆娑的森林和碧波荡漾的运河将她紧紧环绕。斯德哥尔摩市区分布着14座岛屿和一个半岛，70余座玉带似的桥梁将它们连在一起，构成水道纵横、波光粼粼的怡人景色，于典雅中透出厚重的文化底蕴，使其素有“北方威尼斯”的美誉。自1809年以来，瑞典宣布为中立国，一直没有卷入各种战争之中，斯德哥尔摩因此也被人们称为“和平的城市”。这里还是阿尔弗雷德?诺贝尔的故乡，每年的诺贝尔颁奖典礼便在斯德哥尔摩音乐厅隆重举行。
   Stockholm is the capital of Sweden. Situated on the Stockholm archipelago, a network of more than 24,000 island and inlets on the western shores of the Baltic Sea, Stockholm is the political, cultural, economic and transportation centre of Sweden. The city is often nicknamed the “Venice of the North”. This moniker is owed in part to the city’s geographic location on 14 islands connected by some 70 bridges on Lake Malaren. The city was known as the Peaceful city, since Sweden was claimed as the neutralized country in 1809. Stockholm is the hometown of the Nobel Prize and several previous Nobel Laureates can be found among its inhabitants. Every year, the Nobel Prize has been awarded for achievements in physics, chemistry, physiology or medicine, literature and for peace.
